There is a whale calf in Sydney, that was apparently abandoned by it’s mother. They say it will be euthanised today (see photo). The thing I don’t get is, if people are not allowed to intervene and feed it and try things to help it survive because of natural process reasons. Then why is it being put down today? Why not leave it to die by the natural process, instead of intervening?

Update:
This news just came in before. They have put the calf down. Also, they think they might have found the calfs mother.
